My multi-talented gal pal Ellie Rose played a London headline show in Dalston to a packed basement with her new Yamaha Revstar featuring as a shiny centrepiece. Loved this set with Ellie’s band Freya, Rich and Joe, she is a star with an exciting future at only 21.

Kings Cross Railway Station, London

Fact: In 1850, Kings Cross Station was built as the Terminus for the Great Northern Railway. This connected London to the agricultural areas of East Anglia and the coal fields of the North East. There was greater capacity to carry the goods in both directions faster. The warehouses got even larger. Many of the warehouses are still present to this day but with a different purpose. This area went into decline in the 1960s but redevelopment started in the 21st Century.

My friend Julia invited me along to see her old band mates Evering play a set in the back room of the Finsbury, they provided a level of ‘end of the weekend’ escapism with their performance and my favourite song was Driftwood.

The Finsbury, London

Fact: Evering is an acoustic duo formed by Scottish singer-songwriters Chris Yendell and Dawn Coulshed with the common goal of creating an original sound within an indie / folk genre. Dawn and Chris first met on the Edinburgh music scene in 2013, but it wasn’t until the following year that their paths crossed again, this time in London. The inheritance of an old piano sparked their first collaboration and the beginning of Evering.
